A Message from Mrs Day

Hello everyone,

Well what a busy but very successful half term it has been!  We have so much to celebrate!

Firstly we are so proud of the progress that the children have made this term.  They completed their assessments and it really showed how hard they have been working.  What amazing children we really do have.  We have had lots of visitors again this half term and they have all been very impressed with the quality of work that the children are producing across the curriculum!  My Golden Box has had to be topped up several times!

The children have continued to represent the school in lots of different events.  This has included sporting events and the choir and rock band performing at the Mitchell Arts.   Our Choir has also performed at the Limes Residential Home for the elderly.  This was the first time the Choir had ever done this and they had an amazing time.  They were so good that they even made The Sentinel!  We were so proud.

We have held some Watch me Learn sessions which have had really positive feedback.  We will be sharing the Spring Term ones with you soon.  New for next year, we will also be holding class assemblies where the children will have the opportunity to showcase the topics they have been learning.  Watch this space for more information!

We hope that you all have a truly magical and relaxing Christmas break!  It is an absolute joy to be Head Teacher of Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff with such amazing children, wonderful families and incredible colleagues.  I am really excited to see what 2026 will bring.  Merry Christmas to you all.

Christmas Festivities.

Our Christmas Markets were a huge success again and have helped to raise a lot of money for school fund which enables us to keep providing the children with a range of fantastic opportunities.  There was such a lovely, community feel and so many families were able to attend!  We love holding these events and it felt like a wonderful start to Christmas.

Our Year 1 and Year 2 children loved their time on the Santa Train.  They got to visit Toyland and Santa gave them all a present for being so good!  The children were amazed!

The nativities and Carol Concerts this year have also been some of the best we have ever done!  The quality of singing, narration, acting and dancing has been incredible!  It is wonderful to see how many talented children we really do have.  We have also enjoyed a walk with the Elves, North Pole breakfast and a special storyteller!  What a wonderful festive season we really have had.

Staffing Update

In staffing news, Miss Manley leaves us at the end of this term as Miss Jones will be returning from her maternity leave in January.  Miss Manley has done a fantastic job teaching Reception Chestnuts and we have loved having her as part of the team.  We hope to see her again very soon!  Welcome back to Miss Jones!

Miss Wilkes has settled in well into the office and is really enjoying getting to know all of our families.  We are enjoying having her as part of the team!

Attendance Update.

We had a strong start to the term with attendance.  However there have been so many germs about over the last couple of weeks which has decreased our attendance.  Next term we will be making sure to get our attendance back up to the national standard. There is so much content to the curriculum that even missing one day makes a huge difference and it is difficult to catch up.  As you can see, we do so much at Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff and we do not want any of our children to miss out!

School Choir visit the Limes Residential Home.

You may have seen our school mentioned in the sentinel recently. Our fabulous choir visited the residents at The Lymes Residential Home and sang some Christmas Songs. We are very proud of them and want to say a big thank you to Miss Lynch for organising it all.

Reception applications are still open until 15th January. Please remember if your child currently attends our Nursery, you will still need to apply for a reception place.

If you know anyone in need of a school place, please recommend us to them. We would love to show them around and currently have spaces throughout the school.

Elfie is in BIG trouble today!!! Overnight, along with his elf friends, they've taken every bauble off Mrs Day's tree and decorated Mr Plants office! The tree looks so bare and Mr Plant is furious!!!!! Elfie!!!!!!!! I think it's time to give Santa a call and let him know what chaos Elfie is causing. Have a lovely Wednesday.
