A Message from Mrs Day

Well Spring 1 has gone by so quickly and we are now halfway through the year!  It has been a fabulous half term - lots of progress made and lots of fun too!

We have also had some wonderful clay workshops taking place in Year 3 and Year 4.  We are very proud of our pottery heritage so it has been a wonderful experience for the children to be actual potters!  Their creations are fabulous.

It has been great to welcome many parents into school for our watch me learn sessions.  This has included phonics and Times Tables Rockstars.  More of these will be coming up and information will be shared on Dojo.

We have also had farming workshops in school, Gymnastics competitions, visits to the library, netball competitions and of course our success in the Go IT finals!  There really is so much going on in school.

Next half term is going to be a busy one!  We have:  World Book Day, World of Work week (including work experience in Vets for Pets for Year 6), Bikebility and so much more!  There is also a special visitor who is going to walk to school with us for Easter so watch this space……

With so much going on, every day does count.  We really want to see an improvement in our attendance next half term as we really don’t want our children to miss out on any of the lovely things going on.  We will be launching our “Spring into School” incentive next half term and will share more information about this.  Our school is a wonderful place to be and we want to make sure every single child takes part in our amazing school offer.

We hope that you all have a lovely half term and that the weather does start to improve!  Enjoy some family time together and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 23rd February.

Thanks for all the support as always.

Staffing Update.

We are sad to see Miss Lynch and Miss Warren leave us at the end of this half-term.  They have both secured posts in new schools.  They have both made a difference to Clarice Cliff, and we wish them all the best in their new roles.

Miss Smith returns from maternity leave after half-term.  We are looking forward to welcoming her back, and she is excited to return.  Welcome back Miss Smith!

It has been wonderful to share our Ofsted report with everyone and this has led to a lot of visitors coming to see our fabulous school.  The children have been very proud to show off which is very well deserved.

We were so excited to welcome Danny Butler to the academy last week.  The children had so much fun completing the circuits and were amazed by his skills!  I think we may have a few future Olympians at Clarice Cliff!  Thank you so much for all of your support with the fundraising.  The children will receive their prizes next half term and we will keep you posted about the sports equipment this has enabled us to buy for the school.

This year, our focus is on the delightful book 'I Want a Dog', which will inspire a range of creative reading and writing projects across every year group.

To help bring our stories to life, we are encouraging the children to participate in the following ways:

Bring a Soft Toy to School As we explore the themes of companionship and pets in 'I Want a Dog',
Optional Dress-Up - pupils are welcome to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. Whether they want to match our dog theme or represent a different literary hero, we look forward to seeing their creativity!

We are looking forward to a fantastic day of storytelling and imagination. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love of reading at Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff!

Do you have a child that is due to start school in September, or know someone who does?

Come along to our EYFS open evening on Monday 2nd March to meet the team and have a look around our wonderful provision.

Please recommend us to family and friends.
