Year 6 World of Work Week.

Year 6 took part in a World of Work week last week.

They began by looking at applying for Work Experience roles within our school. There were a total of 6 positions available- 4 as a Teaching Assistant and 2 as members of the Senior Leadership Team.
The children got the opportunity to look through the job descriptions and the person specifications and decide which they were most suited to. They then wrote letters of application for the roles that they wanted and addressed them to Mrs. Day.
They were given the opportunity to practise their interview techniques and their presenting skills.
In the afternoon, they were joined by some of our governors and several employers from the world of work who interviewed each of the pupils for their chosen roles.
The interviewers said it was such a difficult decision to choose as each and every child did so well!
Well done to every member of the year group for once again representing our school so amazingly!

To finish the week off  the children got the opportunity to go on a very special trip to Vets4 Pets in Longton. While they were  there, they got to handle snakes, cockroaches and even Guinea Pigs!
They got to see the hydrotherapy pool in action which was very exciting and got a tour of the vets practice and the opportunity to ask questions about what it is like to be a vet.
