A message from Mrs Day.

I can’t believe that we are at the end of another academic year! What an amazing year it really has been. We have had so much to celebrate this year and I am so proud of everything that we have achieved together!

Our Ofsted report has been a particularly magical moment of the year where we achieved five “Strong” standards and two “Expected” which shows the incredible progress that the school has made. A fantastic achievement.

We are really proud of all of our end of year assessments once again where we have achieved:

80% of pupils meeting GLD in Reception which is above national
85% of pupils passing their phonics screening check in Y1 which is above national
81% pupils achieved 20 marks and above and 40% achieved full marks in their Y4 MTC.
75% of pupils in Year 6 achieved the combined measure of meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths which is above national

We are so proud of every single pupil and their achievements. We definitely follow our school song to “Reach for the stars”.

It has been lovely to welcome lots of new families as well as continue to see our current pupils really flourish. We have run lots of parent workshops which have been really well attended - our staff have really enjoyed delivering them! There will be lots more to come next year.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support over the year. Clarice Cliff absolutely is one big family and one that I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of. Every single member of our school community makes Clarice Cliff the wonderful place that it is to be and I am sure it will continue to go from strength to strength.

I hope you all have a fabulous summer making lots of happy memories. Keep yourselves safe and I look forward to seeing you all in September ready for an even better year.

Exciting trips.

Our children have had the opportunity to go on many trips and visits this year. We were particularly pleased to take the children to the “Manchester Runway Visitor Park” for the first time. The children got to view aeroplanes and experience all of the jobs at an airport. We have also been to London, the farm, the Monkey Forest and experienced what it was like to be an Anglo Saxon and to live in Ancient Egypt. We just never stop!

Goodbye Year 6.

We will be very sad to see our Year 6s leave as they start their adventure at high school. They really have been an amazing cohort and we are so proud of everything they have achieved! We will really miss their fabulous personalities - they have been great role models for future cohorts. We wish them every success.

Staffing update.

We also say goodbye to a few staff at the end of this term. Mrs Watson is retiring after 26 years of service - an incredible achievement. We wish her all the best!

Mrs Ashiq will be leaving us for a new school after eleven years at Clarice Cliff. She has made a huge difference and really will be missed. I am sure she will keep in touch.

Miss Hoq is moving to a new school in September after being with us for just over a year. We wish her all the best for the future and thank her for making a difference.

Miss Smith is also moving to a new school after being with us for two years. Again we wish her all the best for the future.

We are also welcoming new staff. Miss Bourne and Miss Griffiths are both continuing their teaching journey with us. They have already started with us and settled in so well! We are sure they will enjoy being part of the Clarice Cliff family.

There have been a lot of transformations both in the indoor and outdoor areas. We are excited to say that these will continue over the summer holidays.

We will be having:

A brand new pirate ship on the Nursery yard
New flooring and murals on both sets of stairs
Revamp of the Early Years indoor environments
Fencing installed at the front of the school to separate the pavement and the driveway to keep everyone safe

We will keep you updated on the progress of these projects ready for September.

Exciting news!

Our project, Healthy Roots, Healthy Futures, is now going to a public vote in Tesco stores from Monday 3rd August until the end of November 2026.

If successful, the funding will help us:
🥕 Provide healthy snacks in every classroom
🍓 Give children the opportunity to try a wider variety of nutritious foods at lunchtime
🌱 Grow our own fruit and vegetables
👩‍🍳 Prepare and cook healthy meals together, helping children develop lifelong healthy eating habits

The rules for Free School Meals are changing in September, this is great news for everyone.

ALL families who claim universal credit will now be entitled. It is really important that everyone applies, even if your child does not have a school meal as this unlocks extra funding for our school.
You can check your children’s entitlement to free school meals and apply online. This
can be done via the website address below:

We are delighted to share some fantastic news with our school community. Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff has been named a Bronze Winner in the 2026 Pearson National Teaching Awards in the Award for Making a Difference – Primary School of the Year category.

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at our Clarice Cliff Olympics! There were smiles, laughter and lots of team spirit as every child got involved in a range of fun sporting activities. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging each other, trying their very best and celebrating each other's achievements. To top it all off, every child took home a gold medal because every single one of them was a winner! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. We are so proud of all our amazing children for their enthusiasm, determination and fantastic sportsmanship. What a day to remember!
