A Message from Mrs Day

Well what a short but very exciting half term this has been!  We have had so much to celebrate and enjoy!

First of all we are really proud of our Year 6 children.  They prepared well for and then completed their Year 6 SATs with a positive mindset throughout.  Fantastic!  Our lovely Year 2 children have also been completing their assessments too!  They have been so mature and hard working in completing them - a great job!

We had our lovely Rising 3s join us in Nursery at the start of the term.  They have settled into Nursery life so well and we are so proud of them!

Everyone enjoyed celebrating VE day and looked fantastic in red, white and blue.  Although the weather didn’t allow us to eat outside, the children still very much enjoyed their indoor picnic and learning all about VE day.

In between all of this, the children have continued to produce some absolutely outstanding work in their books.  The quality of writing that the children are now producing is incredible and we keep looking back to the start of the year to see how far they have come.  It has been wonderful to see their creative side too with lots of beautiful artwork being produced.  We are going to be putting this on display soon so will keep you posted.

I hope that you have a lovely half term break.  The second half of the term is always a busy but exciting one as we start to prepare for the new school year.  We have lots more things to look forward to so that we can end this year in the best way possible.  Enjoy the week and we will see you all on Monday 2nd June.

Mrs Day

Our Year 1s had a lovely visit to the Muller farm this term where they got to make their own butter and see lots of different animals.  They learnt so much!  We were really pleased to be able to get some grants to keep the cost of the trip really low so we could make sure that the children got this lovely experience!  Thank you to Mrs Eyden and all the staff involved in making this such a lovely trip. #showyoucare

Some of our children have been to Co-op Stoke to represent the school in some sporting activities.  There has been an Endball event and Long Jump event.  The children involved showed all of our Co-op Values and were congratulated on their positive attitudes.  They were so proud of the medals that they received!  #succeedtogether

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first ever Cultural Diversity day!  The children all looked incredible in their outfits and it was so nice to see the pride that all the children had in sharing about their own cultures.  The drumming and dancing workshops were such good fun and the smells from the cooking were incredible!  The children behaved so well and showed such a keen interest in everything that they learned!  Thank you for all of your support with this and I am sure we will be doing the same thing next year! #beyourselfalways

We have also had our very first Clarice Cliff Olympics on Thursday for Year 1 to Year 6.  What a truly fantastic was had by all!  The children were amazing and had so much fun!  So many of the children have continued to wear their medals because they are so proud of themselves - as they deserve to be!  Thank you to everyone who came along and thank you to the staff for the most incredible selection of inflatable costumes!
