Spring 24 Newsletter
Message from Mrs Day
It has been a really successful start to the term. There have been lots of changes this half term, but the children have really risen to the challenge and are working really hard. We are really proud of how they are moving around the school, their beautiful handwriting and improvement in writing longer pieces of work.
We have had a new English scheme where children get to learn about a range of really exciting texts. I am sure they would love to talk to you about what they are.
This half term we have had children taking part in different competitions such as Gymnastics, and we have been so proud of how the children have represented the school. Some children have also been out on trips which they have really enjoyed and have again shown outstanding behaviour.
Everyone has been working really hard on their attendance, and it has been great to see improvements in this area. Benjamin and Bethany Bear must be the most well travelled bears and definitely keep the children motivated! Good attendance is so important and with so many exciting things going on, we really don't want the children to miss out.
Next half term we have lots of exciting things to look forward to, such as our Careers Fair, more trips and some lovely Family Learning Sessions.
On a personal note I am thrilled to have been appointed Head of School. I have worked at this school for a number of years and am 100% committed to our academy community. I look forward to working with you all and making sure that your child's journey through Clarice Cliff does result in a "Bright Future".
We hope you have a lovely half term and thank you for all of your support.
Mrs Day.
Exciting Garden project!
We are really excited to announce our upcoming garden project. Over Easter, our Polytunnel is being re-covered, and we plan to create a space for the children to plant, grow and harvest fruit, vegetables and plants. We plan to eventually have our own fruit and vegetable stall to sell to the local community.
If you have any gardening equipment, seeds, pots etc. that aren't needed, we would be happy to take them off your hands to use for our project.
We are also in the process of turning our little garden area into an eco-friendly sensory garden. We have a small Eco club that will be involved in the creation of the space, and they are very excited. We will be asking for some volunteers to come and help when the weather gets warmer.
If this is something you would like to help with, please get in touch with Mrs Eyden.
Time To Talk Day
Time to talk day is th UK's biggest conversation about Mental Health. It takes place on 1st February every year.
The Co-op partnered with MIND and SAMH to inspire and bring communities together to improve mental health.
This year the children spent some time taking part in activities to encourage them to talk about feelings.
Please remember, we have a fantastic pastoral team available for children and parents that are here to help and listen.
Parking around the school
Please can we remind parents and carers to park safely, legally and considerately on the back car park and surrounding areas. We have had a few issues recently with the front vehicle access gates being blocked at drop off and pick up times. and lots of parents have also been blocked in on the back car park. Please note it is really important that these gates are kept clear at all times due to deliveries, visitors and in case of emergencies.
We welcome and encourage children walking, cycling and scooting to school. Please remind your children to dismount bikes and scooters at the school gates and wheel them to the cycle storage area at the front of the school. To keep everyone safe, we ask that children do not ride their bikes and scooters on the car park at the front of the school.
Polite request
Please can we request that children are sent to school with everything that they need for the school day? This includes packed lunches, water bottles, coats, reading books, instruments and P.E / swimming kits etc. Our office team are spending a lot of time taking these to classrooms throughout the day and this is also disruptive to children's lessons. Thank you.
Busy Beez wraparound care
We have spaces available for breakfast and after school sessions with Busy Beez. Children have so much fun and enjoy delicious snacks with our Busy Beez team. If you already have a place, please be reminded that places must be booked and payments must be made in advance. Contact Miss McDonald or Miss Frankland for more details.
