Cultural Diversity Day

We had a fantastic day celebrating Cultural Diversity Day.
On Wednesday 21st May, the whole school took part in Cultural Diversity Day.
Children were invited to come to school dressed in cultural attire, and they took part in a number of workshops throughout the day.
Year 1 +2 had a fantastic time in their drum workshop with Danny Shaw. The children got to try lots of different percussion instruments and practised finding the pulse, playing to rhythm and experimenting with dynamics and tempo!
Year 3+4 took part in a brilliant Indian fusion dance workshop. The music was brilliant, and the dance moves were even better!
Year 5 +6 made vegetable burritos, where they chopped and peeled their own vegetables, watched while they were cooked and then wrapped up the filling. They tasted amazing!
Nursery and Reception had a lovely Sensory storyteller come to visit. She read the story of Elma the elephant, using props to bring the story to life.
We even had a special lunchtime menu that the children really enjoyed.
It was an amazing day celebrating different cultures.
